If you're looking to get a gold guide that's actually going to be useful, I think you'll find that the Warcraft Wealth gold guide is pretty good and comes with a great set of bonuses that will really help new players in particular. In addition to the Wealth guide itself, Wayne has also put together a set of Auction House videos that show you exactly how he works the Auction House to increase his gold supply. Think of it as an AH walkthrough.
The other bonus that I found particularly helpful is the Mining Maps walkthroughs which covers all of the mining regions in WoW. It means a quick run through if I feel like mining and I don't have to waste my time with areas that aren't going to pay off.
And finally the third bonus, which is where you should actually start if you are new to playing World of Warcraft -- that's the WoW Basics guide. This is a 41 page guide that Wayne has put together for players who are still in the noob stage or feel like they never really figured out some of the basics. So if you're just thinking about starting to play World of Warcraft or you've maybe been playing for a couple of months and still feel pretty lost, then I recommend picking up Wayne's Wealth Guide and making the WoW Basics guide the first one you read. Once you understand the concepts that Wayne is sharing, then you can move onto the main guide which has more advanced strategies for amassing gold.
